Donor Family

“My sister Emily was diagnosed with a rare liver disease at just 7 months old and required an emergency liver transplant. The transplant was a success, allowing her to live a joyous and fulfilling 22 years. Tragically, she passed away in November 2023 due to a brain aneurysm. Emily was the happiest person I knew, living every day to the fullest. She graduated college and became an ICU nurse, driven by the desire to care for others as they had cared for her. Seeing how much organ donation transformed her life, I believe everyone deserves a chance at life like she did.”

Inspired by her sister’s journey, Elizabeth created a platform, Giving Hope, which aims to change and save lives by advocating for organ donation. #GivingHope, is a beacon for patients on transplant waiting lists, offering hope and encouragement. Elizabeth is committed to encouraging others to register as donors to reduce waiting times and increase life-saving opportunities.

“Being able to tell my sister’s story is my ‘gift in grief,’ and I’m so thankful to spread her story across the state to inspire others to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.”

Elizabeth’s heartfelt initiative is a testament to the profound impact of organ donation, and her sister’s story continues to inspire and save lives.
