As the Director of the Communications Center at We Are Sharing Hope SC, Brenda Smith is a dedicated professional who passionately supports the mission of organ, tissue and eye donation with the utmost integrity.
“My commitment to our mission comes naturally as I believe to give of oneself for the good of others is the greatest gift,” Smith says. “And dedicating my career to donation services has been a gift to me.”
Smith, along with the Communications Center Manager, leads a team of 12 committed Donor Coordinators who realize legacies of donor heroes by determining initial eligibility for all types of donation, obtaining authorization for the gift of tissue and eyes and coordinating tissue and eye recoveries. The Communications Center is where the Gift of Life begins at Sharing Hope and operates around the clock to honor the wishes of South Carolinians and their families. In addition to her duties as Director, Smith contributes regularly as an Administrator On Call for Tissue Recovery Services.
